The countdown will kick off at 12pm on Saturday, January 22 2022.
Start preparing yourselves for the inevitable echoes of “shoulda been higher”, the iconic triple j Hottest 100 is going down this weekend and we for one are looking forward to celebrating the best of the best in the music scene after another absolutely wild year.
Run by triple j, the listener voted poll has become an integral party of young Aussie’s calendars with a ‘Hottest 100’ party marking one of the most important day drinking sessions of the year. I mean, who doesn’t love tipping some beers at a party whilst the year’s hottest tracks play; and some bloke named Henry (who didn’t vote in the countdown) argues over the speaker about ‘where that song should have placed’. It’s the perfect combination.
10 surprising, bizarre and intriguing songs that have made it into the triple j Hottest 100
If you’re not at a BBQ or the beach this Saturday, and you’re looking for somewhere to kick back and listen to the world’s biggest music democracy live (Wiggles’ cover of Tame Impala’s ‘Elephant’ for #1), we’ve rounded up some of the best listening parties and after-parties around Geelong.
Most of these events will kick off at the same time as the countdown, at 12pm on Saturday, January 22 2022.
Here’s where to listen to the Triple J Hottest 100 in the Geelong region:
The Inn
Could it really get any better than some cheeky Vodka Redbulls and live beats and good times at The Inn’s annual Hottest 100 block party?
Pull up a bean bag, grab a cold one with your mates this Saturday and drink away your votes as we count down the biggest hits of another crazy year.
As always, triple j’s hottest 100 will be broadcasted live throughout the venue and car park, curating the perfect vibe to eat, drink and boogie. Music, food, cold drinks, summer cocktails – they’ve got all you need for the perfect countdown.
Plus, post countdown they’ll have Stace Cadet on the deck with supports from local legends and if you feel like kicking on after 1am, your entry wristband gets you discount entry to Geelong Hotel’s full venue event providing epic kick ons!
Tickets for the Hottest 100 Block Party are on the door from 12pm.

Little Creatures Brewery
Arguably the best brewery in the Geelong region (certainly the most well-known), Little Creatures is always a good idea when it comes to weekend drinking. The laneways of the brewery are filled with the quirk and character this space is known for and those afternoon rays filter perfectly between the buildings.
This year the iconic venue is also getting in on the Hottest 100 celebrations this year in celebration of two countdowns. Across the venue, the team will be counting down the annual GABS Hottest 100 Craft Beers of 2021, while the triple j Hottest 100 will be pumping over the speakers.
Book a table to join in on all the antics from 11am or check the event here.
Torquay Hotel
A 27-degree day with not a cloud in the sky, bevy in hand and awesome music playing. Welcome to summer on the surf coast thanks to The Torquay Hotel!
A favourite in the region, the Torquay Hotel’s Hottest 100 events have fast become one of the busiest and best days to be at the local hotspot – and for good reason!
This year they’ve upped the ante and are bringing in extra production as they have the Hottest 100 countdown cranking in the beer garden all afternoon long.
DJ Spin City Disco will be keeping the Beer Garden party going straight after the countdown until the early hours.
Doors open from midday. Get in early and score a pine bench as no pre-purchase tickets are required.

Geelong Hotel
It’s hard to beat the vibe of the Geelong Hotel. Since been restored to its former glory in recent years, this venue has become a prime destination for punters and their weekend antics.
If you’re ready to really let loose this weekend, the GH’s Hottest 100 afterparty should be on your list.
Running from 6pm until 5am, they’ll have local DJ duo Coco Du Ma headlining the social utopia of the rooftop alongside groovy cocktail specials and space in the Florence Bar.
Comprising the talents of Riley Harman and Sainesh Kissun, Coco Du Ma are a house electronic duo out of Geelong with some serious vibes, delivering groovy belters that make you sweat – just what we need to continue the good vibes of any Hottest 100 party.
Walk-ins welcome all night. Hit the event link here.
Manhattan Bar
Manhattan Bar, The 18th Amendment Bar‘s younger and more laid-back sister will have you sipping on craft beers, cocktails and quality spirits to continue the Hottest 100 celebrations all night long.
Providing all the vibes of a New York bar in the centre of Geelong – cheap drinks, an unpretentious atmosphere, and a unique experience with equally unique individuals – the team are hosting their own Hottest 100 (both triple j and GABS) after party on Saturday from 5pm.
Ballistic Brewing Hawaiian Haze will be on tap and drink specials throughout the evening to ensure optimum hydration!
