Coming soon: Dumpling Guys is the new dedicated dumpling eatery on Little Malop Street in Geelong

Can you hear that? The sound of stomachs grumbling and mouths watering with the news that a new dumpling joint is headed for Geelong.

Taking over a tiny shopfront on Little Malop Street, Melbourne’s well-loved, energetic eatery Dumpling Guys will soon be the first dedicated dumpling outpost on the west end of the famed Geelong strip.

With locations already established in Kew, Melton and Werribee, Little Malop Street in Geelong marks the fourth store from the Dumpling Guys and will see the arrival of fresh, authentic and tasty dumplings, pork buns, noodle and rice dishes and more, promising to be a welcome addition to the neighbourhood.

Taking the utmost pride in their craft, recipes are influenced by the flavours of the east with a combination of traditional spices and methods of preparation.

With the menu also available for keen Geelong diners, here dumplings are available in three different cooking methods – pan-fried, steamed or fried, and come in a range of flavour combinations including pork, chicken and prawn, chicken and corn, beef and lamb, vegetarian and seafood. They’re affordable too, at $6.50 for six pieces and $11 for 12 pieces.

If you feel like elevating your dumplings, you can even get them in a Laksa soup.

Elsewhere on the menu you’ll find salted pepper calamari, steamed pork wonton, Xiao Long Bao, steamed BBQ pork buns, spring rolls, tofu, honey chicken, prawn crackers, and a variety of soups, as well as mouthwatering rice and noodle dishes. Think fried rice, stir-fried meats with veggies with your choice of sauce, and fried noodles. There’s also dessert with Apple Crumble spring rolls and steamed custard Lava Buns.

Having only opened the doors to their first store in Kew in June 2021, the small business has gone from strength to strength over the last 15 months, dishing out authentic and meticulously prepared Dumplings and Chinese dishes across the city. They’re also flying the flag for delicious, hand-crafted dishes that won’t cost you a small fortune. And that makes us very happy.

There’s no set date as yet, with the business Instagram simply stating ‘Coming Soon’ in regards to the Geelong location, but rest assured when it does arrive this will be a go-to for your weekly dumplings fix.

We’ve got a feeling this place is going to be big…
