Cherry Rock 2016 Headliner

Cherry Bar have revealed their plans for the 2016 edition of Australia’s only dedicated rock’n’roll street festival, which takes place across two stages in AC/DC Lane and the venue itself.
Headlining the event will be the legendary drummer of The Ramones, Richie Ramone, playing drums and singing Ramones’ favourites in his only Victorian appearance for the year.
The 2016 incarnation will feature a total of 13 bands, all with no clashes, and also marks the tenth year of the festival.
“Ten years is a hell of an achievement,” said Cherry Bar owner and booker James Young. “Like Richie Ramone, Cherry is ‘too tough to die’. And I can’’t wait to see AC/DC Lane jam-packed in a denim group-hug, all singing ‘Somebody Put Something In My Drink’ with Richie.”
In addition to writing tracks for the albums Animal Boy, Too Tough To Die and Halfway to Sanity, Richie was the sole composer of the aforementioned Somebody Put Something In My Drink and sang lead vocals on (You) Can’t Say Anything Nice. The full lineup will be revealed soon. CherryRock016 goes down Sunday May 1. Tickets are on sale now through Cherry’s website.
