Okay regional radio fans, listen up!
If you’re a MAINfm listener, it’s your time to shine as the best little not-for-profit station in the nation is seeking support through their annual ‘MAINfm radiothon’, running until Saturday June 27.
In the weeklong radiothon, listeners are being encouraged to tune in and subscribe, putting the community into radio and showing support for the long-running regional station. A bounty of daily prizes supplied by some of the best local businesses will be up for grabs during radiothon and everyone who subscribes during June and July will go in the major prize draw. You can view the daily prizes via their Facebook page.
The MAINfm event kicked off last weekend with a series of live programs broadcasting from the MAINfm studios, while the MAINfm Radiothon Wrap Party – Here Comes The Fun: A Big Night Out-In, featuring three of Castlemaine’s finest bands – Jess Parker and the Troubled Waters, Aplegate, Blue Lucas plus MAINfm DJ Shot Betty – will be held on Saturday 27 June from 5-10pm, with a limited number of in-person gig tickets available only to MAINfm subscribers.
This special event will be broadcast live from the Theatre Royal Castlemaine. The first gig back, on the last day of Radiothon!
Covering a variety of interests and genres across music, news and local information, MAINfm are known for their programs presented by local volunteers with a passion for radio which serve the local community and beyond.
As a volunteer organisation, all income raised during the radiothon will be used for development to sustain the station.
