West oz indie singer songwriter Carla Geneve along with Byron Bay’s Luke Morris & The Heavy Hitters and Melbourne alt country kids Quality Used Cars have come together in what promises to be an evening full of tales and tunes inspired by long desert highways, love and life in Aussie suburbia and beers on a Sunday arvo hotel balcony.
Carla Geneve Backed by a captivating show and unique brand of brutally honest lyricism has established herself as one of Australia’s most prominent up and coming artists after the release of her breakout debut
self-titled EP which saw her tour Australia prolifically playing sold out shows and festivals such as Laneway Festival & Falls Festival as well as tour with/support artists such as Cat Power, Kurt Vile, Julia Jacklin, Belle & Sebastian, Fred Armisen and more.
Hailing from the heavy ocean swells and rugged coastlines of South Australia but now firmly entrenched as a Byron shire local, Luke Morris has traded in his solo indie folk musings to form Aussicana outfit Luke Morris and the Heavy Hitters. After a few years away Luke is thrilled to be heading back to Victoria, bringing with him his new band The Heavy Hitters in support of their recently released debut single “Nullarbor Song”, recorded at Rocking Horse Studios in the Byron Hinterland with boys from Ocean Alley.
Quality Used Cars are characterised by Francis Tait’s idiosyncratic, warbling vocal and a penchant for sticky hooks that refuse to overextend themselves, Quality Used Cars place Francis’ charismatic storytelling over a backdrop that blends sunny Australiana with alt-country tenderness and scrappy garage-pop smarts. In February 2021, Quality Used Cars released their unassuming, joyously loveable debut album ‘Good Days/Bad Days’.
