Calling local photographers: Entries open for One Agency Surf Coast’s 2023 calendar photo competition

Perfect Setting by Romy

The competition is calling all amateur and professional local photographers to submit their striking images of the Surf Coast

The Surf Coast marks the start of the Great Ocean Road and is home to some of the most spectacular scenery in Australia. The stunning coastal landscape in our backyard is a shining gem worth a thousand photos, which is why you’ve probably noticed a number of photographers sharing their snaps of the alluring clear waters, rugged rock formations, and breathtaking surf all over social media in recent times. The names Ed Sloane, Ash Hughes, Linda Gorfol, and Romy may come to mind for their stunning photos of the surf coast splattered across Instagram.

With a photographic paradise and a slew of talented snappers in the region, One Agency Surf Coast is bringing back their popular Calendar Photo Competition once again, putting the call out again to all amateur and professional photographers to submit their favourite scenic shots.

The key takeaways

  • One Agency Surf Coast’s calendar photo competition returns, encouraging locals to submit their scenic shots of the Surf Coast
  • This year One Agency is offering a sneak peek of the winning calendar photos before they go to print and giving the public the chance to vote for their favourite.
  • Renowned local photographer Ed Sloane will be judging this year’s competition

For the fourth year running, the competition calls for all amateur and professional local photographers to submit their favourite scenic shots from postcode 3228 to be featured in the 2023 calendar. Whether it be of the dramatic scenery of the road contrasting with the cliffs and the ocean, or of the beaches where the waves and surfers make for a slice of paradise, this competition wants to see it all.

Shaun O’Callaghan, One Agency Surf Coast Director, said you don’t need to be a ‘pro’ or own a swanky camera to be a winner.

“Each year we’re blown away by the quality of the images we receive, many of which are shot on the humble iPhone!

“Not only does the calendar highlight and celebrate the beauty of where we live, but it also showcases the talented photographers in our community, both established and emerging.”

Renowned local photographer Ed Sloane will judge the competition again this year, selecting the 13 winning shots that form the high-quality calendar.

For the first time, One Agency is offering a sneak peek of the winning calendar photos before they go to print and giving the public the chance to vote for their favourite.

The winner of the ‘crowd favourite’ award will receive a dinner for two at popular local restaurant, The Kyn. As a bonus, anyone who votes will also go into a draw to win a prize.
