Delivering multiple stunning releases, including their debut 2018  EP, ‘The Lemon Tapes Vol.1’ with the Matt Corbyesque lead single ‘Broken Girl’ and more recent soul-melting singles Ally, All Things Come and Go and Georgia, the pair possess sophistication in their musical performance and songwriting style that has a tangible sense of the ’60s, while bringing a modern twist to their style.

Think a juxtaposition of vocal styles that ventures from a touch of the Arctic Monkeys Alex Turner, to the melodious harmonies of The Beatles. Utterly delicious right?

The pair approach every performance with the same precision and meticulous attention to sound. It is with this humility that they have elevated themselves as live performers and captivated the likes of Australia’s very own Ben Lee and Alex Lloyd whom they shared the stage in 2021.

With their roots in busking and the sheer joy it brings, McDermott & North are constantly on the road travelling the east coast between Cairns and Melbourne, gigging and busking everywhere in between, with performances at events including Caloundra Music Festival, Bluesfest, A Day at the Orchard and Sea Shepherd Festivals, as well as Bigsound Busking stages and a notable performance with Melbournes Tinpan Orange.

With live performance at their heart, the two are now making their way to Geelong this weekend, bringing along their heartfelt, unassuming method of storytelling in song to brand-new audiences.

They’ll be taking to the beloved Pistol Pete’s Food n Blues on Little Malop Street in Geelong this Saturday, May 21, from 9:30pm with special guest Tanisha, perfect for them post-dinner good vibes.
