Book lovers rejoice: the Rotary Club of Geelong West are once again holding their bi-annual book fair at Geelong West Town Hall to raise funds for local charities.
Thousands of second-hand books will be on sale at the Monster Book Fair from Friday 26 July, with proceeds going to a variety of charitable initiatives. All paperbacks and children’s books will be priced at a measly $1 and hardcovers at $2.
“People who buy books from our book fairs not only get to buy great books at great prices, they can also feel really good about the fact that they are making a real difference in our community,” says Geelong West Rotary Club president Freda Wright.
Recipients of the funds include Barwon Health Patient Transport, Samaritan House, Operation Newstart, Christ Church Meals Program, Geelong Kokoda Youth Program and Interplast.
“The more books you buy, the bigger difference you can make,” says Freda.
Previously, the fair has been a major success, raising tens of thousands of dollars for charity and saving thousands of books from landfill. So if you have a free afternoon, swing by with a gold coin donation to support a good cause.
The Monster Book Fair will take place on Friday 26 July, Saturday 27 July and Sunday 27 July from 9am at the Geelong West Town Hall.
