Bluesfest touring brings Morcheeba back to Australian soil

Bluesfest touring are bringing English electronic band Morcheeba back to Australia after a four-year absence. Since the 1990’s the band have been creating a unique sound which has been played across the world; in cafes, Sunday sessions and lounge rooms alike.

With a career that have made eight albums and sold millions of records over their 22 year existence, Morcheeba are a band with significant achievements. Made up of the stunning vocals of Skye Edwards and Ross Godfrey’s psychedelic guitar, they are widely thought to have pioneered the English hip-hop and soul genre, and are considered to have defined chill-out music across the world.

Forming in 1995, Morcheeba have won the hearts of fans around the world with their dreamy, soulful, down tempo sounds. After breaking up in 2003 and working on solo projects the Godfrey brothers and Skye Edwards have since reunited over the last three years and are returning to Bluesfest with their original lineup, bringing sounds inspired by and perfectly suited to the festival, it’s a reminder of how well the past and present can merge.

As part of the show, Morcheeba will be delighting audiences with the latest album, under the name SKYE | ROSS, that carves its own musical path alongside tributes to and undertones of the sound which made Morcheeba a household name in the early ’90s.

While it would be well worth the journey to Byron Bay to see Morcheeba perform live, you can also catch them in Melbourne, courtesy of Bluesfest Touring.

When & Where: 170 Russell, Melbourne – March 30 & Byron Bay Bluesfest 2018, Byron Bay – April 1 & 2. Tickets available via www.bluesfesttouring.com.au.
