Birds of Tokyo, Boy & Bear and The Cat Empire headline Phillip Island’s Ocean Sounds Festival

Ocean Sounds Festival bumps into Phillip Islands on Saturday 11 January with a huge lineup of Australian bands.

Returning for its eighth year, Ocean Sounds Festival is set to take over Phillip Island with the trifecta of Australian headline talent. Sharing between them 30 ARIA Award nominations, 36 triple j Hottest 100 entries and over 700 million streams, the family-friendly festival welcomes Birds of Tokyo, Boy & Bear and The Cat Empire as the triple threat to the region.

Birds of Tokyo are a must-see live act known for their massive sing-alongs to hits ‘Lanterns’, ‘Plans’, ‘This Fire’, ‘Anchor’ and ‘I’d Go With You Anywhere’. They have wowed on festival stages and been the entertainment for the AFL Grand Final and NRL State of Origin clash. They are a rock band like no other, the only one to receive the honour of the title “Rock Work Of The Year” five times at the ARIA Awards.

Boy & Bear follow Birds of Tokyo’s strong trajectory, having just supported the legendary Chris Issak on his A Day On The Green appearances and selling out their our headline tour. Their 2011 debut album Moonfire went double platinum with their 2013 follow up Harlequin Dream also hitting the platinum prize. They have continued this rise throughout their collection of work and have cemented themselves as a darling of the Australian music scene.

The Cat Empire are the movers and shakers of the Australian music industry – there’s not a stage they haven’t touched on the festival front or a body they haven’t had dancing. Spanning decades and genres with a history of multiple platinum records, awards, sold out tours and over 250 million streams, The Cat Empire have officially entered their golden era and are one of the most infectious live acts of the generation.

In addition to the stellar headlines, the lineup boasts Sunshine and Disco Faith Choir, Jem Cassar-Daley, Cool Out Sun, Ozone Street and a very special performance from Millowl Dreaming.

Alongside some of Australia’s best live acts, Ocean Sounds will also showcase local wines, cheeses and gourmet food vans. Attendees are invited to bring their family, friends, good vibes and to enjoy a memorable experience of quality music in a relaxed, atmospheric and picturesque environment.

Presale tickets will be available from 8am Tuesday 2 July, with registration via here and general sale will hit 8am Wednesday 3 July.
