Bikini Kill, Carly Rae Jepsen and Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever lead Golden Plains 2023 festival lineup

The space time continuum has wobbled our way once again.

Golden Plains, one of the most loved events on the Australian festival calendar, is back, announcing its highly-anticipated lineup for 2023 and with everything from Bikini Kill to Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever to Methyl Ethel to Jennifer Loveless to Carly Rae Jepsen all sharing one stage, it’s a lineup of wall to wall delights.

Returning for its 15th iteration and its first event in three years, with the event last held over the Labour Day weekend back in 2020, the festival will go down from March 11th-13th at Meredith Supernatural Amphitheatre (where else?) with the ballot being your best chance of securing tickets.

Keep up with the latest music news, festivals, interviews and reviews here.

Golden Plains Festival is held on the family property of one of the festival’s organisers, a farm complete with a Ferris wheel, an Ecoplex Cinema and the extremely popular Pink Flamingo Bar. With only one stage, so no timetable clashes, Golden Plains Festival is known primarily for its great music and great culture – the reason that we love the Melbourne music scene so much in the first place.

“Fifteen comes in every flavour of FUN,” Aunty Meredith shared.

“Still BYO everywhere, still independent, with no commercial sponsors, free range camping, all on the one stage, so we’re all on the same page. There’s only one type of ticket. Everyone reclines Gold Class.”

Much like Meredith Music Festival, the great majority of tickets to Golden Plains will be available via the Subscriber Ticket Ballot, before they go on public sale.

If you were already a ticket subscriber, good news: you get to enter the first round of the ballot. If you haven’t yet subscribed, there’s still a chance to do so in order to enter the second round.

Two rounds of ticket offers are made via email to successful applicants; one around mid-October, and then another a week later. Any Subscribers who are unsuccessful in the first round are automatically entered into the second round ballot. It’s simpler than it sounds – and free and easy and quick.

Following two ballot rounds, keen punters still have to chance to buy tickets through the online sales and Aunty’s Last Chance, but let’s be real: you’d be a fool not to enter the ballot.

The ballot is open until 10:15pm on Monday October 24. Try your luck by heading here.
