Lovers of the Bendigo Blues and Roots Music Festival have become used to its November home, but with times always changing organisers were forced to put their gear away. Now, the good times are ready roll…
The Bendigo Blues and Roots Music Festival will deliver its four-day program in the heat of the summer next year, taking place from February 10-13 for its postponed tenth edition, which was originally scheduled to take place in November 2020.
From hotels to street parties, cafes to the famed Art Gallery, music will fill the streets from Eaglehawk to Kangaroo Flat, and on to Ravenswood, Chewton, Cornella and Maldon. As always, the family-friendly centrepiece of BBRMF will fall on the Saturday of the festival.

The festival (a predominantly free, grass-roots, community event) made its first appearance in 2011, having been founded by Colin Thompson and a dedicated crew of music lovers, giving music fans and community members the opportunity to enjoy world-class music, with a focus on local and independent talent from the blues and roots genres. The festival game is a tricky beast, so for BBRMF to stick around as long as it has is testament to what it delivers to the people, and the players.
As Colin says: “Our live music scene is now one to be envied – and that’s not my opinion, that’s what I hear from everyone who comes and experiences Bendigo for themselves.”

Presented by Bendigo Blues and Roots Music Festival and City of Greater Bendigo, Live ‘n’ Local is a celebration of Central Victorian music, complemented perfectly with a selection of local produce and beverages.
Featured artists include John McNamara Band, Charlie Bedford, Bill Barber & the Revelators, Grim Fawkner, Ramble Town, Sherri Parry, The Dead Clampets, Matt Katsis, Midweek Blues, Mariah McCarthy Trio, Funk Junkies, Mandy Connell, The Flannos, Jay Howie, Alawishus Jones & the Outright Lies, Liz Frencham w/Pete Fidler, Flora, The Rattlers, Sons of the Blues and Luke Harrington.
Live ‘n’ Local takes place at the Garden for the Future (corner of Bosquet and Raglan Street, White Hills) on November 6 from 1:30 through 10:30pm. Tickets are $27 for adults and $11 for those under the age of eighteen.
