Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminals will deliver an exclusive performance, marking their first appearance in Australia in five years. Festival Director Peter Noble OAM emphasises the impact of Harper on the Australian music scene, stating, “No other artist who has played Bluesfest has had such an influence on the Australian music industry outside of B.B. King. We wouldn’t have John Butler Trio, Xavier Rudd, The Beautiful Girls, Angus and Julia Stone as they are today if it wasn’t for his influence. Ben and his band’s performances at Bluesfest are legendary. This is an experience not to be missed on Easter Sunday.”

The new additions join previously announced acts including Tom Jones, Jack Johnson, and Drive-By Truckers, as well as The Teskey Brothers, Matt Corby, Dan Sultan, Tedeschi Trucks Band, The Cruel Sea, Tim Finn, Portugal. The Man, Ziggy Alberts, and Coterie, among many others.

The festival, which began in 1990 with a modest crowd of 6000, has evolved into a powerhouse, regularly attracting over 100,000 attendees. Over the years, Bluesfest has hosted iconic artists such as Buddy Guy, Bob Dylan, BB King, Mary J Blige, Santana, Kendrick Lamar, and Tom Jones, securing its status as Australia’s favourite music festival.

Bluesfest 2024 promises to be extraordinary, with extensive site upgrades at Byron Events Farm ensuring an even better experience. Surrounded by the picturesque village of Mullumbimby and the coastal towns of Byron Bay and Brunswick Heads, Bluesfest guarantees the best festival vibes ever.
