Bathers is the newest dining and cocktail destination on Geelong’s Waterfront

Sip cocktails in the sunshine at this new cocktail bar.

The days are longer, warmer and brimming with possibilities – yes, Summer is officially here, and we are bursting with anticipation for what this season will bring, especially now that we’re all allowed out and about.

A big part of what we look forward to in summer, alongside the scorching heat and days by the beach, is of course the ability to wine and dine in the great outdoors. Alfresco is our signature style, and Geelong has just gained one more spot to eat, drink, breathe in the fresh air and bask in the sunshine.

Meet Bathers, Geelong’s answer to beachside booze, beats and bites.

Located on the upstairs level of The Beach House on Geelong’s waterfront (which was always going to be a game-changer for locals and visitors alike) this newest venture ensures it lives up to the hype.

Boasting sweeping views of Geelong’s favourite beach, a spot for a DJ on the deck, plus plenty of room for groups, Bathers serves a collection of cocktails that just scream summer. If you’re after something sweet tangy and stupidly refreshing, opt for the Bathers Amaretto Sour. Or need a kick to launch you into the weekend? Their espresso martinis are a real winner.

With cocktails in hand, watch the summer sun go down with delicious nibbles like fried whitebait and calamari… absolutely divine!

Design-wise, it’s an Instagram dream. Designed by Melbourne’s Studio Esteta and furnished by House of Orange, the spacious indoor-outdoor terrace is an atmospheric antidote to an exhausting week.

The abundance of mismatched seating throughout the venue – with lush couches, bohemian bamboo chairs and metal wire chairs – adds to the playful, casual vibe in this beach house bar. The natural materials used for the bench and chairs is balanced out by the colourful cushions and lamps, bright artwork and fresh foliage scattered around the venue, making it the ideal location to spend your evenings. The high ceilings, contrasting feature pendant lights, exposed rafters, bright open windows, and simple, crisp bar only further makes Bathers a standout among the coolest destinations for drinks in the sunshine.

This might just be the new beachside haven that you’ll never want to leave.

Opening just last weekend, the Bathers is set to be slinging food, cocktails, music and good vibes Fridays through to Sundays from 4pm until 9pm. It’s walk-ins only so there’s no need to book.

Bathers is located upstairs at 95 Eastern Beach Rd, Geelong.
