Ballarat’s Kryal Castle and Geelong Sports Hub are hosting four Harry Potter stars in 2021

Ginny and Percy Weasley will now be joining the twins.

Earlier this year, back in June when life was slowly returning to a new kind of normal with the easing of lockdown restrictions around the country, Ballarat’s Kryal Castle announced a truly magical gift that the region was to host stars from one of the most iconic movie franchises in history for an enchanting day of activities.

English actors James and Oliver Phelps, better known as Fred and George Weasley in the Harry Potter franchise, were scheduled to bring the magic to the region’s famous Kryal Castle for their Wizard Activity Day on Sunday October 11. The real-life twins – who are now aged 34 – starred in all eight of the iconic Harry Potter movies between 2001 and 2011, alongside co-stars Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson.

Presented by Wowza Entertainment as part of a month-long Australian tour, the event has – unsurprisingly – now been rescheduled to next year, due to the ongoing restrictions and lockdowns in Australia as we battle our way through the pandemic.

Now slated for Thursday April 8 2021, the event will be hosted by Australia’s greatest magician Cosentino and see additional appearances from Bonnie Wright and Chris Rankin, better known as Ginny and Percy Weasley.

Featuring four of the Weasley children, the event will see a number of magical performances, Q&A sessions with the famed actors, and meet and greets with photo opportunities which is sure to please all the Potter-heads out there.

According to the Kryal Castle website, ticketholders will be able to experience the thundering drama of the joust as brave knights and their magnificent mounts face each other in the Castle Arena, wander through the twists and turns of the maze, visit the archery range and try your hand, or step into the Wizard’s Workroom to marvel at the magical goings-on. They’re also encouraging attendees to don their best magical-themed outfit. Thankfully, both muggles and wizards are welcome. You can suss your tickets here.

Alongside the special Wizard’s Day event in Ballarat, it looks like the Q&A event is also hitting up Geelong at Geelong Sports Hub on Monday April 5. Coined an evening of Magic & Wizards & Quizzes, the event will run pretty much the same as Kryal’s with tell all Q&A’s with the stars, have your photo taken with the Weasley car, and be wowed by quiz host Cosentino, except for the additional magical adventures that the castle itself offers.

You can get tickets for that show here… but we do think there’s something special about the event being held at a castle!

While the new event is exactly seven months away and pretty much anything can happen between now and then, organisers have stated that if the show is unable to go ahead due to the coronavirus, they will reschedule dates to later in 2021, and if for any reason the show is cancelled, you will receive a 100% refund.
