Ballarat’s Kryal Castle has announced they’re hosting Harry Potter stars this October

While the pandemic hasn’t stopped, life is slowly returning to a new kind of normal with the easing of lockdown restrictions around the country, and now we’re seeing a small wave in upcoming events to look forward to.

One magical gift that the region has received is the announcement that stars from one of the most iconic movie franchises in history are heading to Ballarat for an enchanting day of activities.

English actors James and Oliver Phelps, better known as Fred and George Weasley in the Harry Potter franchise, are scheduled to bring the magic to the region’s famous Kryal Castle for their Wizard Activity Day on Sunday October 11. The real-life twins – who are now aged 34 – starred in all eight of the iconic Harry Potter movies between 2001 and 2011, alongside co-stars Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson.

Presented by Wowza Entertainment as part of a month-long Australian tour, the Ballarat event will feature magical performances, a Q&A session with the brothers, and meet and greets with photo opportunities which is sure to please all the Potter-heads out there.

According to the Kryal Castle website, ticketholders will be able to experience the thundering drama of the joust as brave knights and their magnificent mounts face each other in the Castle Arena, wander through the twists and turns of the maze, visit the archery range and try your hand, or step into the Wizard’s Workroom to marvel at the magical goings-on. They’re also encouraging attendees to don their best magical-themed outfit.

Thankfully, both muggles and wizards are welcome.

While the event is still 131 days away and pretty much anything can happen between now and then, organisers have stated that if the show is unable to go ahead due to the coronavirus, they will reschedule dates to January 2021, and if for any reason the show is cancelled, you will receive a 100% refund.

Tickets for the Ballarat event start at $60 and can be purchased online at here. Keep up to date with the latest news via the Facebook event.
