In a dust-kicking return to the scene, the Ballarat Rodeo is back in action, saddling up for an unforgettable day at Kryal Castle on Saturday, 6th January.
After a hiatus since 2019, this rodeo promises a rip-roaring day of family-friendly entertainment, showcasing the state’s fiercest bulls, wildest horses, and their daredevil riders in the new year.

For a single day, the castle’s magical grounds will undergo a Wild West makeover, hosting a range of events from 5 pm to 9:30 pm. You can expect a blend of classic rodeo madness and medieval charm, featuring the castle’s favourite heart-pounding jousting that will have visitors on the edge of their saddles.
Contestants from across Victoria will converge for a death-defying showdown, choosing their poison from staying upright in the saddle during bull-riding to the rodeo’s OG – bareback bull riding. And if that’s not enough, classic barrel racing will keep spectators on the edge of their seats as riders navigate a cloverleaf pattern around barrels in a race against time.
Perfect for the school holidays, this isn’t just for the grown-ups. Junior bull riding lets the kiddos take centre stage, vying to become the rodeo stars of tomorrow.
Yet, the excitement isn’t confined to the arena. Jumping castles, face painting, mouth-watering grub, and live music will turn the afternoon and evening into a magical escapade within the enchanted confines of Kryal Castle.
There will also be live music on until midnight. And for the over-18 posse looking to wet their whistle, a dedicated watering hole will ensure the party doesn’t hit the hay too early.
