Ballarat knows what’s up and has nicknamed itself ‘Beerllarat’ for January 21 next year. The Ballarat Beer Festival will be held at the City Oval with way too much for one beer lover to handle, but we recommend you try anyway. There will be 40 different brewers stalls, and over 150 different styles of beer and cider.
After your ‘tasting’ skills have been tried, move onto the Beerllarat Olympics and try your hand at Human Sized Foosball! There are also education classes about cheese and wine pairing, brewery experts on hand, live music, and regional wines for those not keen on a pint.
Something called the ‘Brew Cage’ offers the VIP experience – sounds ominous but there’s beer. Enjoy dinner on Friday night with a five course degustation meal with matching beers and wines, held in Housie Housie.
