Ball Park Music: Good Mood

Good Mood is the fifth studio album from Brisbane indie rockers Ball Park Music, and there’s no sign of them slowing down any time soon. A soothing, yet boppy cavalcade of indie rock, tracks with daft punk inspired instrumentation, and general homage to years gone by. Frank, the third track of Good Mood, features lead vocals from Sam Cromack using a vocoder to great result. The track gives off a regretful vibe with focus on the lyrics “you are always on my mind.”
It’s probably the heaviest track on the album, while still being easily one of the best.
On the other end of the spectrum, Exactly How You Are, the first single off the album is a melodic surf ballad about love, relationships and loving each other for who we are. The harmonic euphony of varying instruments during the chorus creates a warm sound and a lingering feeling of nostalgia.
This track contains instrumentation and vocal work reminiscent of the track “1979” by The Smashing Pumpkins, creating the same nostalgic summery feeling. Overall, Good Mood is another hit album by Ball Park Music and will be sure to leave you in a good mood.
