Baker Boy, Something For Kate, Montaigne and more to headline free all-ages festival this November

Making its triumphant return to the banks of the Maribyrnong with their biggest lineup ever, Illuminate the River will return for a huge nine hour event - all for free.

With Yolngu superstar Baker Boy, iconic Melbourne trio Something for Kate, electronic dance mavericks Art vs Science, art-pop singer Montaigne, indie-pop singer Mia Wray and kid favourites the Teeny Tiny Stevies taking over the main stage for Illuminate the River, it’s set to be a huge festival.

It all goes down for free on November 19, taking over the banks of the Maribyrnong River for nine hours of music as well as a plethora of family-friendly activities.

The best bits

  • The lineup include Baker Boy, Something for Kate, Art vs Science, Montaigne, Mia Wray and Teeny Tiny Stevies
  • There will also be a laser show on the river, carnival rides, food trucks, a beer garden, kids’ activities and more
  • It all goes down on Saturday, November 19 from midday until 9pm

Presented as part of On The Road Again, a Victorian Government Initiative aimed at bringing back live music across the state, this is the biggest, boldest and most audacious lineup in Illuminate the River’s three-year history. There’s also going to be an inflatable regatta, carnival rides, kids’ activities, food trucks, a beer garden and extravagant laser and water show on the river.

“People will be so excited to have the chance to see artists of this calibre in Moonee Valley,” said Mayor of Moonee Valley City Council, Samantha Byrne. “The fact that they can also see them for free is something they might even find hard to believe – but it’s real alright!”

“Add to that all the other entertainment that will be on offer for the whole family, and it adds up to a day not to be missed. Start planning your public transport journeys now.”
