Baker Boy leads Bendigo’s Dragon City Sounds online concert

An opportunity for young people to connect with community through music, arts and culture.

You would be hard-pressed to find someone who doesn’t have a story about how music got them through a difficult time. There would be many, right now, relying on the power of music. With this in mind, Bendigo Venues & Events has partnered with the City’s Community Partnerships to bring Dragon City Sounds to your home on Sunday, October 25.

Baker Boy will headline the concert, which will be available to stream through the Bendigo Venues & Events YouTube channel. Born and raised in Milingimbi and Maningrida but currently based in Melbourne, Baker Boy was made Young Australian of the Year in 2019. At this year’s National Indigenous Music Awards, he secured a tidy three gongs, including ‘Artist of the Year’ and ‘Song of the Year’.

Alongside Baker Boy, Dallas Woods (MC and rapper hailing from the Kimberley WA) and local group Aswang will also perform.

The event will also give an opportunity for young people to share their thoughts on mental health and wellbeing during this challenging time.

The concert will be available to view on our YouTube channel on Sunday October 25 at 4pm.
