Award-winning surfing podcast Ain’t That Swell brings their hysterical show to Torquay Hotel

Words by Jena Carr

Prepare your surfboards and swimsuits, popular surfing podcast; Ain’t That Swell is riding their way through Torquay during April with special guest Mick Fanning.

The podcast about all things surfing, Ain’t That Swell, will bring their CHILDREN OF THE CORN live tour to multiple locations in Australia. Coming to the best surfing spots this March, April and May, they will be making a special stop at Torquay Hotel this April 10th, coinciding with the very beginning of the Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach which will return in 2022 to its traditional date slot of the Easter Weekend.

The podcast is brought together by its ‘HMAAAAAD’ co-hosts, Surf Writer Jed ‘Smivvy’ Smith and former editor of Surfing World Magazine Vaughan ‘Rinsed Corn’ Blakey. The two works together to portray the best representation of surf culture that other forms of media have lacked in the past and have created a cultural phenomenon within the surfing world. The podcast brings together in-depth surfing knowledge and hilarious banter to connect with the core surfer in all of us.

The show will include a line-up of surfing greats, including the one-and-only Mick Fanning, who will be coming down to be a special guest at the Torquay Show. The Australian professional surfer has a wave of notable achievements, including being a 3x World Surfing Champion. Still, many may know him as the surfer involved in a shark attack whilst competing in a surfing Final at Jeffrey’s Bay in South Africa. But he won’t let that stop him from coming down to Torquay to talk all things surf with Ain’t That Swell.

After previous shows were wiped out due to the Covid pandemic, Ain’t That Swell can’t wait to reconnect with their loyal fans, also known as the Swellians.

The all-out tour will be filled with their usual shenanigans and hilarious commentary on what makes the surfing world awesome.

Tickets can be purchased through Oztix and Moshtix. Any previously purchased tickets for shows cancelled due to the pandemic will be valid for their new shows. So, hold onto those rad tickets as Oztix and Moshtix will be in contact with ticket holders to arrange for new times or to issue refunds for those who would rather go hang ten.

So whether you’re a grommet just starting out or the biggest Kahuna, you’re not going to want to miss out on seeing these much-loved surfing commentators as they hang loose.
