Southern Sons are a household name in Australia, shaping the rock scene of the 90's with their poignant songs.
The 1990s saw the emergence of one of Aussie rock’s rising stars, Southern Sons. It’s hard to believe that their songs which swayed a generation across the decade are turning 35 years old.
To celebrate the original lineup are coming together to jump up on the road, playing shows under the Southern stars for audiences across regional centres in Australia. The tour starts at the end of January, rolling through 16 cities and wrapping up with a special show at Melbourne The Palms at Crown on 3 May.

Lead vocalist Jack Jones expresses his excitement, saying, “I’m proud of everything I’ve done, but Southern Sons is where it all started for me. The band represents a remarkable time in my life.” With the addition of Pete Drummond, renowned for his exceptional drumming skills Southern Sons’ promises an extraordinary future.
Southern Sons’ debut self-titled album received an ARIA nomination and soared to the top of the charts, captivating audiences with their rare rock sound. The release of their first single, ‘Heart in Danger’, in 1990 solidified their position as a formidable force in the music scene, dominating charts for years to come. Their 1992 album, Nothing But The Truth, continued their streak of success, featuring singles such as ‘Lead me To Water’ and ‘You Were There’. Additionally, three Southern Sons tracks were included in the acclaimed 1993 Sydney Dance Company production of Beauty & The Beast. The band’s third and final studio album, Zone, released in 1996, showcased a guest appearance by Men At Work’s Colin Hay on the lead single, ‘Don’t Tell Me What’s Right’.
