Celebrate your local cocktails and bars from 1 – 31 May with the launch of Australian Cocktail Month.
Exclusive cocktails will be the talk of the town throughout May, thanks to the return of Australian Cocktail Month.
Developed to champion the Australian cocktail industry and support bars and bartenders as they welcomed guests back into their venues following Covid-19 closures and restrictions of 2020, the nationwide celebration of local bars and bartenders is back for its second year and has expanded to include eight new cities, including Geelong, the Gold Coast, Newcastle and Wollongong.
Stay up to date with what’s happening in and around the region here.
Kicking off on May 1, this four-week celebration is all about driving people into bars and injecting optimism into 145 bars across 12 cities around the country. Getting Geelong on board for the first time, participating venues include Piano Bar, 18th Amendment Bar, Justin Lane, Sailors Rest, Manhattan Bar and 18th Amendment Bar in Queenscliff.
Tickets are $20 and the campaign allows ticket holders to access exclusive menus at their favourite spots. All you need to do is buy a ticket and head into one of the participating venues for a special selection of cocktails available for that month only, allowing consumers to escape the day to day and enjoy delicious cocktails at a reasonable price.
These limited-time drinks will all be capped at $14 each, with non-alcoholic options available for $10.

Founded by influential industry figure Penny Sippe, the month-long celebration focuses on the best local and international spirits, liqueurs, and mixers – all the ingredients required for a truly memorable cocktail occasion. Think a range of international brands such as Bacardi Ocho and Warner’s Rhubarb Gin, as well as a multitude of local brands including Melbourne Based Starward Whisky and Four Pillars Olive Leaf Gin, as well as Mr Black Coffee Liqueur.
“I am so excited for another year of Australian Cocktail Month. Year two and we have more cities and double the bars involved,” Sippe said.
“Encouraging consumers to head out and explore the bars that make our cities so vibrant whilst enjoying amazing cocktails created by some of the country’s best bartenders is our goal.”
As for cocktails you can expect to find in Geelong, so far we know the 18th Amendment will be serving up a Saint Paloma featuring Patron Reposado, The Influencer featuring Archie Rose White Cane and a mocktail Plane without Wings featuring Lyre’s Amaretti. As for the rest, well you’re just going to have to head on in to find out.
Our bars and bartenders are the best in the world, and they need your support — all you have to do is gather your friends, get in the bars and enjoy their cocktails.
A ticket to Australian Cocktail Month can be used at any participating venue throughout May and is available for purchase here.
