Once upon a time, in the land of Geelong, Jake Robertson and Billy Gardner bonded over The Music Machine and The Golden Dawn.
Gardner’s main gig at the time was The Living Eyes, but when their drummer was recovering from repetitive strain injury, Robertson temporarily filled the position. As they waited for the slackers in the band to turn up for rehearsal, they began jamming. And so it was that the Ausmuteants machine came to life.
The lads have just released a first time Aussie vinyl repress of 2012’s Split Personalities, a collection of bedroom recordings by Gardner and Robertson.
