Calling all talented and unconventional musicians!

A mainstay event in our region, Queenscliff Music Festival is a favourite for the entire family thanks to its rich history of music and festival programming since 1997. The festival has seen huge talent trample through the tents including Australian darlings Paul Kelly, Kate Ceberano, Kate Miller-Heidke, Bernard Fanning, Sarah Blasko, Renee Geyer, Marcia Hines, and Billy Thorpe, and has provided local talent with a stage to make a name.

Now the prestigious Queenscliff Music Festival (QMF) is back for its 26th edition, and artist applications are now officially open! This award-winning community event, set against the picturesque backdrop of Queenscliff on the Bellarine Peninsula in Victoria, is a celebration of diverse music styles and creative performances.

Keep up with the latest music news, festivals, interviews and reviews here.

QMF is renowned for its respect for the local community and the coastal environment. The festival embraces a wide spectrum of music genres, excluding cover/tribute bands, EDM, and Metal. If you’re into something different or quirky, QMF wants to hear from you.

To apply, you just need to ensure you have an online presence with streaming audio, whether on a website, social media page, or YouTube. Traditional CDs are a no-go. Pro tip: A standout video showcasing your performance can catch the organizers’ attention.

Performance Opportunities:

  • Concerts: Acts typically perform 45-75min sets and are encouraged to perform multiple shows over the festival weekend.
  • Comedy: Looking for musical comedy acts.
  • Kids/Family Entertainment: Diverse acts for all ages, including music, circus, storytelling, and more.

Other Program Opportunities:

  • Foot-in-the-Door (FITD): A FReeZA funded program for emerging talent with genre-based competitions.
  • Busking: A competition at various locations throughout the town.

Consider the number of performances and accommodation priorities when quoting your performance fee. Accommodation is limited, and priority is given based on various criteria.

And while QMF primarily celebrates Australian music, international guests with local Australian promoters are considered.

Applications close on March 31st, 2024, 11:59 pm. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to be part of a community-based, not-for-profit event. If unsuccessful, don’t be discouraged; the lineup varies each year, so consider reapplying in 2025.
