Not only that, the 'Bay' is the only Victorian beach in the top 10!
Deservingly known as paradise by the sea, Apollo Bay and its tranquil beaches have been recognised as one of the best beaches in the whole of Australia.
In no shock to us (it’s a beauty and we’re so bloody lucky to live in this region!), Tourism Australia’s annual Best Australian Beaches list for 2023 has been revealed and Apollo Bay in Victoria has come in at number four! Not only that, the ‘Bay’ is the only Victorian beach in the top 10!

Taking out the top spot this year was Stokes Bay on Kangaroo Island, which beat nearly 12,000 Aussie beaches to be crowned the best in the nation for 2023. It’s also the first time ever that a South Australian beach has taken out the title, so kudos!
The other two beaches coming in ahead of our great Apollo Bay include Boomerang Beach in NSW followed by Rainbow Beach in Queensland.
The Top 10 list, which features at least one in every state, was curated by expert Brad Farmer AM (a conservationist and advocate for the protection of coastlines), who travelled to beaches across the country.

10. Balmoral Beach, Sydney Harbour, NSW
Located midway along the majestic Great Ocean Road, in the shelter of Cape Otway and on the lowest slopes of the beautiful Otway ranges, Apollo Bay really is a haven for water lovers and adventure travellers.
