Australia’s Angie McMahon has released her first single Slow Mover today.
With a deep sound reminiscent of London Grammar, and upbeat summer anthem vibe, this new track is an easy listen from the newcomer.
The song is the first taste of Angie McMahon’ s anticipated debut record, slated for 2018.
A few months ago, Angie McMahon became the successful recipient of the Josh Pyke Partnership; a nod of encouragement for Angie’s artistic vision and songwriting, which is described by Angie herself as, “Soulful ruminations on life, love and take away food.”
Since then Angie has supported Father John Misty, The Jezabels, Gretta Ray, The Teskey Brothers and will soon join Alex Lahey on her upcoming album tour. Angie recently made her showcasing debut at BIGSOUND, turning heads and piquing interest of newfound fans with two powerful performances.
“Slow Mover is a song about putting energy into things that are worthwhile, and taking plenty of time to get to a good place. I’d spent a lot of time pining after love, but at this point my head was shifting, and what I actually wanted and needed was to pursue my music career,” Angie says of the new single.
The first single Slow Mover was produced by John Castle (Vance Joy, Megan Washington). Listen to it here.
