Due to hit Australian stages in November later this year, Alanis Morissette has cancelled her Australian tour.
The Canadian singer was due to perform Australian headline shows as part of her 2020 World Tour celebrating 25 years of her seminal debut album, Jagged Little Pill. Released in 1995, Jagged Little Pill stands strong as a decade-defining masterpiece 25 years on. A testament to Morissette’s power as a songwriter and musician, the record boasts fan favourites such as ‘Ironic’, ‘You Oughta Know’ and ‘Perfect’.

In the years since making her debut, Morissette has released nine more acclaimed albums and collected seven Grammys, though her Aussie tour was due to see her returning to her roots to revisit Jagged Little Pill in full.
The shows were originally slated for April 2020, but the highly-anticipated (and sold-out) shows were rescheduled due to COVID.
Now, Morissette has confirmed cancellation this morning, with promoter Live Nation saying, “due to scheduling issues and to the unprecedented logistical challenges of global touring in 2022, and in consultation with her management, we all feel it’s best to refund the ticket holders now and have all committed to rescheduling these dates at the earliest possible time.”
“My friends in Australia & New Zealand, I am crestfallen to announce that the upcoming Jagged Little Pill Anniversary tour dates have been cancelled. I love you all and will be back as soon as we can. Until then, big hug,” Morissette said.
All purchased tickets will receive a full refund. Tickets will be automatically refunded in full (including refundable ticket purchase, if relevant) to the original payment method used for purchase and patrons do not need to take any action.
Fingers crossed for a return tour in the not-too-distant future.
