There will also be live music and performers, magic shows, a photo station and pop up igloos, in case you needed more convincing.

A festival highlight will be the Winter Solstice event on Saturday, July 16 from 5pm which will see the entire precinct come alive and the sky lit up with a fireworks display. There will be something for the whole family from African drummers, a bonfire, food trucks, roving fire performers and a marshmallow toasting pit.

Entry is free, however, tickets need to be booked for ice-skating. The ice-skating rink is being specially constructed for the event and will be a centrepiece for locals and visitors alike. You can bring your own skates or hire on the day and sessions start at $18, and up to $26 for adults with cheaper options for those with skates already.

With igloos, ice skating and fit pits, this festival makes for the perfect excuse to pack the car and hit the ice!
