With summer here, it seems there’s no better time to release a whole bunch of events for us to get excited about.
A Summer Series of Events is the newest imitative from three ladies (Ciel Lindley, Rachel Valentyne and Yasmine O’Sullivan) behind the popular green change blog Get Outta Town to inject some energy into Castlemaine over the summer.
These events, aimed at green changers, city dwellers and country folk, are designed to show off the ‘good life’ in rural Vic – and what a good life it will be with these events!
The series will kick off with a designer ice cream making class, where participants will learn how to turn their backyard bounty into five litres (which you get to keep) of delicious dessert with Ice Cream Social’s Helen Addison-Smith – the local ice cream queen. Prepare for epic amounts of ice cream and sorbet on Sunday December 11 from 10am.
There will also be an amazing dinner with The Good Table’s Alexander Perry on February 4 from 6pm. This includes a set-menu with local produce, with quality wines to match. There will also be welcome cocktails by alchemist Louden Cooper.
They say that the worst experiences make the best stories, so the last event Country Fails will be an evening of drinks, rants and laughter on the ups and downs of green changing – and a whole lot of lessons that have been learnt the hard way. This one will be on Friday February 17 from 7pm.
