A One Hour Out pop-up market has landed on the Bellarine for the summer season

1 / 5

One Hour Out, a website designed to connect Melbournians to incredible experiences outside of the city, has popped-up in real life on the beautiful Bellarine Peninsula.

Situated within what’s affectionately known as the “creepy shed” on the grounds of award-winning Jack Rabbit Vineyard, Bellarine, a brick-and-mortar retail incarnation of One Hour Out’s Markets has arrived for the summer.

Showcasing goods from the best Regional Victorian artists, makers and small-batch food producers and hosting creative workshops and events over Summer, One Hour Out Pop-Up Shop will operate from Wednesday to Sunday from 11am to 4pm until January 29, 2023.

Keep up with the latest in local news and entertainment here.

With the iconic Jack Rabbit venue refreshed and transformed from an overflow storage space into a functioning retail and workshop hub by creative collaborators Anthea Riskas (Torquay) Nicky Cawood (Mirboo North), this little gem has become a real treat for locals and tourists alike, especially in the lead up to Christmas.

“OHO Pop-Up is a real-world extension of our popular online OHO Markets,” says One Hour Out founder, Jay Dillion.

“This live pop-up retail experience will bring together a selection of makers and creators in the lead up to the holiday season and beyond. It’s a great way to find the perfect gift for someone special, even if that’s yourself. We’ll have some truly unique creations and products that aren’t mass produced everywhere.”

Since its launch at the start of the Victorian lockdowns in 2020, the online OHO Markets have curated a collection of 120 producers and artists with in excess of 3,000 products listed for sale and shipped directly by the supplier.

“While markets were unable to run during the lockdowns, it offered an excellent solution for both makers and shoppers alike to support local artisans and keep the artists and makers who work so hard on their small businesses, in business,” says Dillion.

Whether you need to sort out your holiday shopping and get into the festive spirit with Christmas food hampers and gourmet treats, or just treat that someone special (or yourself) to a range of ceramics, jewellery, original artworks, indoor plants, fresh cut flowers and so much more, the OHO pop-up is a must-visit, as well as simply being a beautiful showcase of some of Victoria’s most talented artists, designers, crafters and culinary creators.

Throughout the summer, visitors can also expect a rotating stable of quality suppliers taking featured positions within the Pop-Up as well as creative workshops, events and classes to experience.

While you’re browsing, do some wine tasting (or take home a bottle or two) of Victoria’s tastiest wines and enjoy a meal at the Good Food Guide Awarded Restaurant, House of Jack Rabbit while soaking up the gorgeous views and supporting Victorian producers.

OHO Pop-Up Market is located at Jack Rabbit Vineyard.85 McAdams Ln, Bellarine Victoria. For more information on the pop up event, head here.
