A one-day beer and cheese festival is coming to Geelong in May

Celebrate the best of both worlds at Blackmans Brewery's Beer & Cheese festival.

Uniting two of our favourite indulgences, Blackman’s Brewery have announced its first-ever beer and cheese festival, proving that dreams really do come true.

Gifting us perhaps the best day of our lives, the local independent brewery have teamed up with local fromagerie Splatters Cheese Bar to host ‘Blackman’s Festival of beer and cheese’ – one of the brewery’s hero events for this year’s Good Beer Week which is back again for its 11th year to celebrate brilliant beer, delicious food, and exciting adventures.

Keep up with the latest food and booze news across the region here.

Taking place on Sunday 21st of May from 12pm to 8pm, Blackman’s Grovedale (29/8 Lewalan Street, Grovedale) will be hosting a full day of beer and cheese with Geelong’s favourite cheese train, celebrating some of the finer things in life.

So far, we know that the day will feature endless beer and cheese tastings, live music all day, masterclasses, and gourmet picnic boxes, all designed for those that want to cosy up for the ultimate day out for the whole family, full of delicious cheese and beer.

This one will be a family-friendly event so bring the whole squad and dogs are also welcome.

Perhaps the best part of all though, is that this epic event is entirely free! No entry tickets are required.

The eleventh annual Good Beer Week takes place from May 20 – 27, 2023 with over 70 events taking place across Melbourne and regional Victoria. Head to goodbeerweek.com.au for the full program and find your way to beer heaven.

Presented by the Independent Brewers Association (IBA), Good Beer Week, the biggest beer week in the Southern Hemisphere, is an independent and not-for-profit festival that celebrates and promotes the renaissance that beer is enjoying globally. Since the festival’s inception in 2011, its central aim is to promote good beer and the community and culture that surround it.
