The crew behind Garage Geelong have opened a store on the Surf Coast.
Much like no one does burgers like Boss and ice cream like Messina, no one does vintage quite like The Garage – a groovy vintage store in Geelong from the same crew that brought you The Mill Markets, Powerhouse and The Malthouse.
With summer knocking a the door, the crew have now decided to follow the sun and open a Garage vintage store on the Surf Coast.
Setting up shop on Baines Crescent in Torquay (AKA factory outlet haven), this artsy-cool shop is quickly becoming one of the best spots to find a bunch of second-hand boards for just $95, gear, vintage surfwear and surf style tees from vintage surf brands like Billabong, Rip Curl, Quiksilver, Mambo, Hot Tuna, Ocean Pacific and more.
Think perfectly faded, baggy oversized vintage surf tees from the ’80s and ’90s, bright boardies, summertime accessories and laid-back dresses. Essentially this spot is pure catnip for anyone with a nostalgic spot for the ’90s. There will also be a tonne of new items too for good measure.
Alongside all the surf-inspired wares, you’ll also find stacks on stacks of vintage treasures, retro goodies, alternative fashion labels and designer works and art pieces.
Much like the Mill Markets, it’s worth coming in just to wander around and get a little lost having a gander at all the cool knick-knacks and funky clothes you wish your grandparents never tossed.
