Prepare your tastebuds Geelong, a pop-up dessert bar is opening in Newtown this February and we are ready.
Introducing Sweet Adeline Desserts – a new business serving artistic desserts and delicious beverages out of a vintage caravan bar.
Originally slated to launch late last year, the caravan will make a home for itself on February 14 at an open riverside space courtesy of the fantastic team at Elite Training Centre in Newtown, right on the river, giving locals something new to get excited about. Here you will find plenty of outdoor seating, aromatic barista coffee, as well as a selection of their delicious handcrafted desserts and cakes, available for dine in or takeaway.
Spawned from the notion that life’s all about following your dreams, the brains behind Sweet Adeline Desserts – Geelong locals Lee and Angie Mifsud – are making good on the promise to offer something truly special to Geelong; ‘something sweet, with a touch of the whimsical’.
Creating beautifully crafted desserts, combined with the vintage character of Theodore the dessert caravan bar, the dream team will not only host a pop-up in Newtown but will also travel from event to event, bringing a distinct charm that is sure to impress any occasion. The “Teddy Van” has been lovingly restored, maintaining the integrity of his classic swagger, therefore making him the perfect complement to any style of event – be in your hens, birthday, wedding or even just a lavish celebration with the girls.
While ‘Teddy’ is pretty damn special, the hero of Sweet Adeline though is most certainly the wow factor of their artisanal desserts. Using fresh and locally sourced ingredients combined with the latest techniques, Sweet Adeline Desserts continually produce innovative dessert designs. The multiple layers of their creations bring a harmonious balance of flavours and textures that will tickle your taste buds, and they offer a range of creations that seamlessly blend with each event setting, creating a wide appeal.

From the white chocolate and coffee mousse/caramel and donut infused creme brulee centre/Kahlua jelly/espresso sponge base/espresso dark chocolate spray (yes really!), to the Rum Poached Pear with vanilla mousse, Hazelnut Praline and Dark chocolate Ganache, and the sleek strawberry yoghurt mousse cake, these creations are seriously next level.
For launch day, we’ll be seeing the likes of the Hazelnut Rocher chocolate cake, the Espresso Martini cake, white chocolate mousse and lemon cake, a tropical dessert taco, chocolate banana and salted caramel taco, and some delicious vegan slices.
