Whether you’re an analogue addict or an aspiring one, there’s never been a better time to start.
There will always be a love for the early eras, the decades which perhaps we missed out on or that we look back on with pure nostalgia, craving what life used to be and look like. The vinyl revival is a classic example of our lust for previous decades, and as we raid the cupboard for mum and dad’s old records, we’re also digging around for their old film cameras.
Geelong’s hub of photography, Focal Point Studio, Darkroom and Gallery, is celebrating film photography yet again, bringing back its popular camera market.
Stay up to date with what’s happening in and around the region here.
Named The Geelong Camera Market, here film photography enthusiasts will be able to browse more than 25 stalls selling all kinds of weird and wonderful cameras, from rare and collectable pieces and everything in between.
Taking place for one day only at Focal Point on Sunday, 28 May there will be film cameras and accessories, lenses, DSLRS, digital and mirrorless; darkroom equipment, camera bodies and parts, rare and hard to find items, vintage and new photography books, manuals, films, and more.
As for brands, last year saw the likes of Leica, Contax, Nikon, Canon, Pentax, Linhof, Rollei, Mamiya and more, so we’re imagining a similar lineup will be on show.

Last year saw more than 300 people attend and this year is looking to be even greater!
Whether you’re a fan of the point and shoot arrangement, or craving a deeper connection to the art of photography, this market is a must.
Geelong Camera Market hosted by Focal Point Darkroom and Gallery goes down on Sunday, 28 May from 9:30am at 46 Douro St, North Geelong.
