A dedicated karaoke bar is opening in Geelong

Who doesn’t love a bit of Karaoke for a night out or a post-work get-together?

For those with the stage confidence of Aretha Franklin, the voice of Adele or the moves like Jagger, we’ve got good news: Geelong has just scored a dedicated spot to belt out a classic tune with a brand new karaoke bar.

Brought to you by the crew at Mad Good (the dive bar located with local favourite The Barking Dog), the Karaoke Bar is set to transform the space, breathing new life into the venue.

The key takeaways

  • Geelong’s newest and ONLY dedicated karaoke venue is opening this week
  • Karaoke kicks off at 7:30pm and will run Wednesdays through to Sundays
  • Enter through The Barking Dog

Not only will it be Geelong’s newest place to take the night to a whole other level, but turns out it’s actually the only venue in town dedicated entirely to karaoke, decked out with quirky mismatched pendant lights, eclectic art and an abundance of greenery and neon dangling from the walls.

Kicking off with a grand opening this Wednesday, November 10, the karaoke bar will operate from Wednesdays through to Sundays. Opening from 5pm for food and drinks (think bao buns and dumplings from Mr Umamis new Bao Bar), karaoke will kick off from 7:30pm each night with an extensive collection of old school and current chart-topping hits, comfy booths, and plenty of booze to get you in the singing mood.

There’s even a list of shots named after music legends to win you over, from the Cointreau and fireball ‘Cat Stevens’ to the white and black sambuca ‘MJ’ alongside ‘The Britney’, ‘The Whitney’ and the ‘Mr Rogers’.

Not confident in front of the mic? Don’t stress! It doesn’t even matter if you’re terrible at it because that’s the whole point. I mean, have you truly lived if you haven’t humiliated yourself while singing (and owning) “Man, I feel like a woman” at least once in your life? No, the answer is no.

So, whether you’re looking for a new place to try, somewhere to have some laughs with your crew, or you want to have a crack at singing in a room full of strangers, this place ticks all the boxes.

You can book your next night out via the website. Find Mad Good’s Karaoke Bar at 126 Pakington St, Geelong West.
