St Jimmy will be matching the energy and enthusiasm that Green Day was known for at the beginning of their career this July
18 years ago, in September 2004, Green Day released one of the biggest albums of the year with their seventh studio album American Idiot – the politically charged concept album about Jesus of Suburbia spoke of disillusion with modern society and modern leaders and galvanised a new generation of disenfranchised voices. Originating from the pop-punk explosion of independent bands in the mid-‘90s, this inescapable rock landmark revived Green Day’s career and changed the face of rock music in the years that followed.
It was an instant classic and remains an iconic album in rock music nearly 20 years later.

Now a bunch of talented Geelong musicians have come together to pay tribute to Green Day and their blend of punk rock simplicity and perfectly catchy melodies with the formation of St. Jimmy.
Named after one of the main characters of American Idiot, along with Jesus of Suburbia and Whatsername, St Jimmy is bringing together the likes of David Weir, Adrian Trinchera, Stuart Caldwell, Sascha Keet, Marty O’Shea and Adam Christopher to bring punters this iconic album, in full, at the Barwon Club on June 5th along with a selection of the other Green Day hits that have become radio staples over the last 30 years.
Expect to hear ‘American Idiot’, ‘Holiday’, ‘Wake Me Up When September Ends’, ‘Jesus of Suburbia’ and the Grammy Award for Record of the Year winner ‘Boulevard of Broken Dreams’, among all your other favourites.
With 24 tracks over two huge sets in Geelong, this is a huge night of stripped-back punk rock not to be missed – especially for the Green Day fans among us.
