A brand new winter wonderland has popped up just out of Geelong with ice skating, an outdoor cinema and pop up igloos

Meet the Eynesbury Winter Festival.

If you’re looking for something fun and outdoorsy to do with the kids or your pals this winter, the inaugural Eynesbury Winter Festival is it, located just an hour drive away from Geelong.

The key takeaways

  • The inaugural Eynesbury Winter Festival has landed in the region
  • Eynesbury will be hosting a series of free events every night, right into July
  • Entry to the festival is free but tickets for ice skating are required

Keep up with the latest in entertainment and local events via our website.

Running from Friday 25 June to Sunday 25 July, the festival is just the ticket to fight off those winter blues. Coined a winter wonderland, the event is jam-packed with an ice rink, hot cocoa, roving entertainers, winter-warming food, and a series of mini winter events including romantic ‘skate and date’ and funky R’n’B skate nights under the stars, appearances from special guests, and a special dog-friendly Eynesbury winter market featuring a wide variety of stalls and entertainment on the very last day.

They’ve also got an outdoor cinema happening that will be screening winter-themed flicks like Blades of Glory, Frozen, Mighty Ducks and Home Alone, and Thursday nights is ‘date-night’ with drink specials from 6:30pm.

There will also be live music and performers, a jumping castle, a photo station and pop up igloos, in case you needed more convincing.

A festival highlight will be the Winter Solstice event on Saturday, July 10 which will see the entire precinct come alive and the sky lit up with a ten-minute fireworks display. There will be something for the whole family from African drummers, a bonfire, food trucks, roving fire performers and a marshmallow toasting pit.

Entry is free, but tickets need to be booked for ice-skating. The ice-skating rink is being specially constructed for the event and will be a centrepiece for locals and visitors alike. You can bring your own skates or hire on the day and sessions start at $11 for kids bringing their own skates, and up to $24 for adults needing to hire.

With Adventure Park’s Winter Glow having already sold out for keen winter wanderers, this festival makes for the perfect excuse to pack the car and hit the ice!

PLUS: We’re giving away some vouchers for free ice-skating for four people and $50 food vouchers to Ms Peacock. Head over to our Facebook page and tag who you’d bring along to enter.

The Eynesbury Winter Festival runs from June 25 to July 25 and is open seven days. Visit the website for more information.
