A Bar Is Opening In The Former Pentridge Prison

Ever wanted to wine and dine in a former solitary confinement cell? Well, now you can. The restaurant, bar and brewery precinct will see the old heritage-listed laundry and D Division at the former Pentridge Prison transformed under the guidance of renowned architects, Technē.

Original laundry machinery will be kept intact, while the rest of the space will be renewed as an urban dining hub under development firm Future Estate’s $1 billion dollar ‘Coburg Quarter’ project.

An on-site microbrewery will be flowing with Coburg Larger, while the courtyard space which will be converted into an enclosed beer garden. The menu is set to showcase a charcoal grill delivering modern Australian barbecue, with an emphasis on food to share.
