NaranaFest makes it’s 2016 return with the announcement of A.B Original as the festival headliners. The event will take place on Saturday November 5 at Narana Aboriginal Cultural Centre, Geelong.
A.B Original is a collaboration between NIMA winning rapper Briggs and Trials of Funkoars fame. Their much anticipated, politically charged new album ‘Reclaim Australia’ is due later this year, with already released tracks receiving high praise.
The duo also penned the track ‘January 26’ with Dan Sultan, talking about “Australia Day”. You can listen to it here.
The award-winning cultural tourism and education enterprise will host the All Ages event that will run from 11am – 8pm.
The full line up for the festival’s 2016 return is; A.B Original, Gawurra, Leah Flanagan, Yirrmal, Karl S.Williams, Benny Walker, Emily Wurramara, The New Savages, Deadly Duo, True Culture and One Connexion.
There’ll also be food trucks, market stalls and a community BBQ. NaranaFest will also have arts and crafts activities and a cultural exhibition.
The word ‘narana’ itself means listening and learning, and Narana Aboriginal Cultural Centre aims to express this message through NaranaFest.
