Curated by homegrown indie artist and producer Bel Kil, aka Annabel Kilpatrick, who will also be showcasing her own talent on the festival stage, Out West Fest promises an electric mix of Australia’s best up-and-coming and established acts leading in with Hayley Mary and Deep Sea Arcade. Two pivotal acts to the Australian music scene, Hayley Mary and Deep Sea Arcade are favourites on festival stages and the touring circuit.
As a member of indie rock band The Jezabels, Hayley Mary soared with a striking and unique vocal ability that captured and churned audiences across the world. Dark Storm, Prisoner and Synthia stole the spotlight with highlight moments of ‘Mace Spray’, ‘Easy To Love’, ‘Endless Summer’ and ‘A Little Piece’ redefining the 2010’s Australian music landscape. Following the bands indefinitely hiatus in 2017, Hayley Mary redefined her sound. As a solo artists Hayley Mary lent into the rock space, starting strong with EP The Piss, The Perfume. With a constant catalogue growing across the last five years. Her singles ‘One Last Drag’, ‘The Lonely One’, ‘Ballad of Rub Wednesday’, ‘Primordial Afterglow’ and latest ‘Eighteen’ from upcoming release Roman XS, set for release on 25 October, continue Hayley Mary’s mark as a diverse songwriter and strong frontwoman.
Deep Sea Arcade have continually wowed audiences in Australia and overseas thanks to their eclectic fusion of psychedelic rock, electro, disco, beats and storytelling. With tracks like ‘Girls’, ‘Steam’ and cult classic album Outlands, Deep Sea Arcade have built a devoted fanbase influencing other big players in our industry including DMA’s, Lime Cordiale and Children Collide. They’re a phenomenal act to witness live and unmissable at Out West Fest.
“I chose artists who blew me away at their live shows,” says Bel Kil. “Their performances are so damn good you have to know about them.”
The lineup also boasts local and emerging talent including Sex On Toast, Milou Moon, Sunday Honey, Umbra Moon, Riley Mason, with a local band competition breaking things up and DJs getting people pumped between sets.
