The Clam is hosting a free, weekend-long party with Tim Sweeney, Maple Glider, Mildlife DJs and more

WORDS BY STAFF WRITER

The big weekender is called Quicksand at The Clam and it's inviting us all to get stuck in Lorne on January 20-21.

A seaside tavern and self-described gem at the end of the earth, The Clam is spearheading Lorne’s barnstorming transformation into a bustling cultural hub, courtesy of its owner, renowned chef and food editor at The Saturday Paper, David Moyle.

He and his clam bake cookup is set to be one of the low-key highlights, but will inevitably be overshadowed by a whopping lineup. Tim Sweeney is the long-running host of iconic electronic radio show Beats in Space, which has broadcast on Apple Music since leaving WNYU.

He’ll be joined by the acclaimed Maple Glider, a set from Mildlife DJs and DJ JNETT, Danika, Andee Frost, Otologic, Sky High Trio and Dingo Balearico.

As well as DJs and live music, the weekend will also feature the Monster Children: SUBCULTURE Film Series at one of the other exciting attractions in Lorne, the charmingly retro and currently-remodelled Lorne Theatre next-door.

Last but not least, Mum Cha by those pillars of Melbourne laneway Chinese cuisine, Shandong Mama.
