Due to incredibly popular demand, Tim Minchin is running it back for a second show at Costa Hall.

With the first show selling out like hotcakes, internationally renowned, award-winning musician, comedian, actor, writer and composer Tim Minchin has added a second show to his Geelong run, bringing An Unfunny Evening with Tim Minchin and His Piano to the regional city for two nights in January.

The multi-talented artist will now be gracing the Costa Hall stage for two intimate and informal solo shows on Friday, January 19 ahead of the sold-out show on Saturday, January 20 2024.

Keep up with the latest in local news and entertainment here.

Get ready to be treated to songs from his 2020 studio album, Apart Together, as well as hits from his musicals, Matilda and Groundhog Day. But that’s not all! Tim will also delve into his TV and film writing and even take you back to his early songwriting days around the turn of the century. The setlist promises to be fluid, the chat unplanned, and the vibe oh-so-informal. Oh, and don’t worry, he’s planning on wearing shoes this time!

Tim Minchin last toured Australia in 2019 with BACK, marking his return to the Australian stage after over a decade. The tour sold out in record time and was met with rave reviews from fans, earning him the prestigious Helpmann Award for Best Australian Contemporary Comedy. After overwhelming demand, Tim embarked on an Encore tour in 2021 that played across the country.

For all you Minchin fans and aspiring songwriters out there, this is a rare opportunity to get up close and personal with the man himself and witness the craft of songwriting at its finest.
