Catch the Rock ’n Roll Mersey Beat Show at 360Q this February.
Four mad Beatle people who like to share with the audience their passion for a largely unheard part of Beatle history (unless you were there of course!) are heading to 360Q Queenscliff on Friday, February 17.
The Rock n Roll Mersey Beat show includes some very early Beatles music (1959-1962), Chuck Berry and many other artists from that era. It is high-energy billed as a high-energy show that will resonate with anyone who enjoys the fab ’60s sound.
Keep up with the latest music news, festivals, interviews and reviews here.
BackBeaT plays this music in true beat style with raw energy, passion, and three-part harmonies, with the period correct equipment, foolishly dressed in black leathers and winkle picker boots! They all sing too so the audience never gets bored with the same vocalist!
They are currently the only Beatles tribute show in Australia specialising in the early years of the fab four and the only Melbourne band to have been invited to perform twice at an International Beatleweek held in Liverpool, UK in the festival’s 33-year history and are hoping to get back this year again!
BackBeaT has a huge repertoire (approx. 120 songs & growing!) including a good share of The Beatle’s early music and their history. They perform songs from rock and roll founders such as the ever-lyrical Chuck Berry, Buddy Holly & the Crickets, The Everly Brothers, the rockabilly, sounds of Elvis, Eddie Cochran, Carl Perkins etc. as well as soul songs from Afro-Americans Arthur Alexander, Ray Charles, and Motown girl groups played in high energy Merseybeat style.
The forthcoming gig at 360Q performed by BackBeaT will be two sets of thumping, heart-palpitating numbers as the group performed them at The Cavern Club in Liverpool, UK. So get ya dancing shoes on and we’ll see you for a loralora fun!
