Queenscliff Music Festival is launching a new live music venue in the region

Julia Jacklin

The new performance space will be launched in December.

With Queenscliff Music Festival forced to cancel its festival for the second year in a row, the Bellarine lost a vital cultural celebration, an annual place for music lovers to get lost and enjoy doing it ahead of the summer months.

While the festival will return in 2022 (praise be!), that current gap and musical hole in our heart has now been occupied with the emergence of Queenscliff Town Hall – a new music venue that will satisfy enthusiasts from all corners of the artistic spectrum.

The key takeaways

  • A new live music and entertainment venue is launching in Queenscliff
  • A bunch of shows have already been announced including Bones and Jones, Julia Jacklin and more.
  • Presented by Queenscliff Music Festival.

Keep up with the latest in local news via our website.

Created by QMF – the music jewel of the Bellarine – the entertainment venue intends to present regular concerts throughout the year in the Queenscliff venue that previously housed the Borough of Queenscliffe council.

The dazzling new venue will officially launch next month with a FReeZA (a Victorian State Government initiative) all-ages gig featuring central Victorian sextet Bones and Jones on December 10.

Kicking off the new year in style, the venue will then see Tex Perkins and Matt Walker take to the stage on January 15, while ThornBird (the solo project of seasoned Australian performer Vikki Thorn of the Waifs) will hit up the town on March 11. Stunning folk songstress Julia Jacklin has also been announced to perform at the new venue on April 1 next year, with the venue to announce even more shows soon.

With the aim to be a safe and accessible space for all to enjoy, the new venue will operate in a seated capacity for the majority of shows. The venue has its own bar which will serve both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, with snacks available to purchase. Events at the new venue are 18+ events however patrons under the age of 18 are allowed to attend the event provided they are accompanied by a parent or guardian and have purchased a ticket.
