50 Cent & G-Unit supported by A.B. Original and Baker Boy

One of the biggest names in rap, 50 Cent is set to hit our shores in February with his famed crew G-Unit in tow, including Lloyd Banks, Uncle Murda and Tony Yayo.
If that wasn’t enough to cement these shows as the hip-hop events of the year, 50 Cent and G-Unit will be supported by an all-Australian line up including multi award winning Indigenous rap sensation A.B. Original and Darwin newcomer Baker Boy.
Having taken out the 2017 J Award, A.B. Original also picked up two ARIA awards and the coveted Australian Music Prize for their album ‘Reclaim Australia’. Baker Boy’s hit single ‘Cloud 9’ infiltrated the triple j airwaves with an instant full rotation addition, a major slot at this year’s BIGSOUND Festival and a win at this year’s National Indigenous Music Awards for NT Song of the Year.
While not having released any new tracks in 2017, the year was massive for A.B. Original, scooping many (all) awards, proving their status and influence as one of Australia’s most powerful hip-hop acts. Their announcement as support to Fiddy and G-Unit only affirms that they will begin this year like they finished the last.
Baker Boy’s 2017 was equally as impressive, having released ‘Cloud 9’ and ‘Marryuna’, as well as being a mainstay at festivals all around the country. Without doubt one of the stand-out Indigenous acts in Australia today, expect Baker Boy to make a statement with his performance.
The end of 2017 saw the release of 50 Cent’s latest single ‘Still Think I’m Nothing’, while Lloyd Banks and Uncle Murda also enjoyed critical success to finish the year, the entire G-Unit roster will be in full flight when they hit Sydney’s Parramatta Park and the Melbourne Showgrounds in February.
50 Cent’s return to Australia marks the 15th Anniversary of his seminal album ‘Get Rich or Die Trying’, a record that took him from the streets to the top of the charts after being discovered by Eminem and Dr Dre. The album spawned a wealth of hit singles including the iconic platinum smash ‘In Da Club’ and Billboard chart topper ’21 Questions’. ‘Get Rich or Die Trying’ inspired the successful biopic of the same name and kick-started one of the biggest careers in hip-hop history.
