It’s hard to believe that Summer is almost upon us, it felt like yesterday we were all emerging from our lockdown cocoons and getting back out there into the world.
Today we’re looking around the grounds in regional Victoria for some of the best events to get out and enjoy the soon-to-be warm weather.
A Day on The Green
It’s an all-year event, but A Day on The Green really comes alive during these summer months. You can catch some of the world’s greatest musicians and bands in the nicest Victorian locations. Great Australian Beer Festival Geelong
There’s an exciting show coming to Geelong this Summer, celebrating one thing we all love, beer. The GABF celebrates a selection of the best local breweries, you’ll be able to taste some of the best hop juices from spots like Bridge Road Brewers, Farm Dog, Burnley Brewing, Fox Friday, and plenty more. On top of that, you’ll be able to enjoy music from legends Telenova, Jolyon Petch, and Ash Grunwald.
Always Live: Hometown – Alice Skye
The new Always Live campaign has allowed live music to move into spaces that don’t usually get it. Horsham will become a live music hub with a performance from the talented Alice Skye, a Horsham native who has gotten a lot of attention with her unique folk pop stylings. Warrnambool Quilt Show
The Victorian Quilters Inc are a group dedicated to bringing like-minded quilters together and bond in their shared interests of all things in the blanket space. The group will host a show in January, taking place at Warrnambool’s Brauer College, and will feature some of the nicest designs in the industry. One Electric Day
Another cool music festival is making its way to regional Victoria over the coming months, one of which is the classic music celebration, One Electric Day. Suzi Quatro, Noiseworks, The Angels, Baby Animals, The Screaming Jets and Chocolate Starfish will be making their way to Werribee Park for what is sure to be an enjoyable day. Guy Sebastian – T.R.U.T.H
For all music fans in regional Victoria, there often needs to be a little bit of travel to catch any of their favourite musicians. But lately, there seems to be a bit more of a movement throughout regional Victoria with tours, with Aussie star Guy Sebastian recently announcing shows in Geelong, Ballarat and Warrnambool.
City and Colour
Continuing the journey through live music in the region, talented acoustic performer City and Colour will be making his way to Bendigo for a massive show at the Ulumbarra Theatre. This comes after he was announced to perform alongside Angus and Julia Stone, Ben Harper, The Rubens and Alex The Astronaut at the popular Summersault festival. By The C – the travelling music festival renowned for featuring an array of enduring Australian bands – is back this summer to deliver another season of live music in some of the most scenic locations in the country! Taking to the Torquay Common on Saturday, February 4 2023, the coastal venue promises to deliver a picturesque backdrop for a music-drenched soiree with some of the best Aussie favourites featuring Jimmy Barnes, The Living End, Wolfmother, Noiseworks, Baby Animals and Dallas Crane.

Regional Victorian Fishing Expo
Fishers and fishing fans unite; an expo is coming to regional Victoria celebrating your favourite pastime on 18th – 19th February 2023. The Horsham Showgrounds will feature stalls, shops, and many cool things that will expand your fishing repertoire. Peter Biram Exhibition
The Frankston Arts Centre is often home to some of Victoria’s most interesting and original works, Art from Peter Biram, a painter who is influenced by the environment and land ownership. Chamber Music Dining
Victoria’s never a stranger to doing new and cool things when it comes to dining experiences. One of them is coming to regional Victoria this December, you’ll be able to enjoy a meal alongside some live Chamber Music at the Narkoojee Winery. It’s a three-course meal, and it includes a glass of Sparkling when you get there. For around $155, it’s a great deal. More info can be found here.
So Frenchy So Chic
So Frenchy So Chic, Australia’s favourite celebration of French culture, will return for a 12th year in 2023, to Melbourne’s Werribee Mansion on January 15 and Sydney’s Bicentennial Park on January 21. The only French music festival of its kind outside of France, SFSC is a unique social and sensory experience of live music, gourmet food, fine wine, and joie de vivre on tap, channeling pure Euro-summer escapism without the plane ticket.
