Melbourne Museum’s new adults-only party returns this Friday

A new adults-only lounge and live music space is happening at the Melbourne Museum, giving punters a chance to enjoy after-dark tunes and exhibitions on the first Friday of every month.

Going under the name of Nocturnal, the event will transform the museum into the ultimate adult playground to celebrate the end of the week.

On the back of a spectacular launch last month with a live performance from all-round legends Dorsal Fins which saw a sell-out crowd of more than 2000 take Friday night drinks to a new level, Nocturnal will return in full force on 4 August.

To celebrate the return, Gold Class will be on the eve of releasing their second album, Drum, on August 18 after forming in 2014 to much acclaim with their debut album, It’s You, along with Melbourne four-piece RVG, centred on singer-songwriter and namesake Romy Vager and a killer DJ set from Millú fresh from Japan.

The museum will be primed for all your Friday night antics, complete with pop-up whiskey and beer bars, delicious foods and signature cocktails, roving entertainers and spot talks from some of the museum’s curators.

Nocturnal’s next Nocturnal event is going down this Friday from 6pm-11am, with the event running on the first Friday of every month. More info here.

Tickets can be secured at the special early bird rate of $25 or for $35 on the door.
