A New Treasure Trove Throws Open its Doors in Castlemaine

Huzzah! With great pomp and fanfare we announce that the much anticipated Castlemaine Vintage Bazaar will throw open its doors to the public on Saturday 21 May 2016 from 10am-5pm. Based at The Mill Castlemaine, the Castlemaine Vintage Bazaar is a collectors’ nirvana of knick-knackery, bric-a-brac-ery, second hand curios, retro accoutrement and a soupçon of handmade finery and will be open for business 5 days a week.

Bazaar Manager, Jane Goodrich, says “We have around 45 stall holders who will offer antiques, collectables, retro, rustic, industrial and upcycled furniture, vintage goods such as jewellery, clothing and accessories, art, crockery and glassware, music, books, memorabilia and quirky bits and pieces. Being such an artistic region, there will also be wares made by local artists and designers. People love sifting through an eclectic selection offered by a variety of stallholders in the quest to unearth a treasure.”

To celebrate the opening there will be entertainment throughout the day, fun for the kids and a community sausage sizzle. All are invited to join the celebration.

Based an easy 90 minutes from Melbourne, 40 minutes from Bendigo, Daylesford and Woodend, and one hour from Ballarat, the transformed former woollen mill at the northern end of Castlemaine is already a popular tourist destination. A hub for local manufacturers, there are msculptors, furniture makers, wine makers, a coffee roaster, a micro-brewery, an ice creamery and a number of other small businesses based on the site.

The Castlemaine Vintage Bazaar is at The Mill Castlemaine, 1-9 Walker Street, Castlemaine, opposite the Botanic Gardens. Opening hours will be Thursday ・Monday 10am-5pm. More details at www.castlemainebazaar.com.au, phone 0458 571 661 or email [email protected]
